Why do you need an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) in your office & workplace?

Today, we have the utmost pleasure to deliver Heartsine AED (Automated External Defibrillator) to one of the prestigious bank in Malaysia. Appreciate to have a supportive client such as them and engaged CERT Academy as their First Aid training provider for this year.

After attending our training on First Aid & CPR, their Safety & Health Officer (SHO) believe in the importance of having an AED in the office. He stressed that doing CPR alone on a collapsed victim is not enough to save his/her life, rapid intervention of CPR & AED increase the survival rate of the victim. The duration needed for an ambulance to reach to the victim with a defibrillator will take averagely 30 minutes in Malaysia, which would be too late upon arrival.

As for today training, the SHO have selected 20 of their staff to attend our AED training conducted by our trainer Ms. Siti. Participants are empowered with knowledge on basic life support & being taught to identify and operate an AED during an emergency. Throughout the whole sessions, participants are having fun and laughter as well in the learning process of performing CPR & operating AED to “shock” a victim. At the end of the training, some participants show interest in equipping AED in their own home as they are concern about their family safety.
